General Training Times
Coaching and squad training is generally carried out during the entire year, so as we can also accommodate the School Athletics Calendar and ensure Athletes are ready for these.
Coach enforced rest/recovery periods usually occur at the end of major State or National Championships.
Sessions are held most evenings so as to cater for those Athletes who compete at National Levels.
Although our sessions are stated as being for 12 years and up, consideration may be given to the maturation levels of the athlete bearing in mind that studies have shown, that the occurrence of overuse injuries and burnout are extremely high if children commence a regimen of intense training at an early age with the highest incidence of “tarsal (foot) stress fractures appearing to involve Track and Field followed by football and soccer” (Ostlie DK, Simons SM).
